This charming flatback depicts a boy and girl seated in front of a tree with their dog and two lambs. The tree is hollow to hold spills that would be used to light the fire, gaslights and candles before the advent of the match in 1827. The figures are painted with cobalt blue and overglaze enamels. Painter's mark on the base.

Good vintage condition commensurate with age. Some cracks in base, chip on right side of base. Some imperfections and crazing due to the age and the firing process. Please review the pictures carefully as they form an integral part of the description.
