Charming pair of copper luster Staffordshire Dogs with separate legs. C. 1880s. Excellent example of the copper luster technique whereby the copper paint was overlaid after the first firing and then fired again at a lower temperature to achieve this effect. Charming hand painted expressive faces. Made in England.
