Lovely English Majolica Fish Relief Cheese Dome. C. 1870. Made in England. Attributed to Adams & Bromley. Lovely hand painted fish relief with green foilage on a cobalt blue background. Beautiful raised fish handle on the top. The Cheese dish and inside the dome is a delightful ochre color. The bottom is the typical English Majolica tortoise shell glazing technique.
Please see pictures -- this piece has been professionally restored. along the side of the dome. There is a crack in the base of the dome near the outside edge that does not protrude through, potentially occurring during firing. Otherwise in good vintage condition commensurate with age.
