This is a beautiful example of Luneville pottery's barbotine style majolica with typical turquoise, purple, and green glazes. Luneville Pottery pioneered the barbotine technique in the latter half of the 19th century and asparagus was a popular theme in their work thanks to the vegetable's newfound accessibility and popularity amongst the European middle class. There is a small chip at the top as seen in photos as well as some imperfections that occurred during the glazing process. Please review the pictures carefully as they form an integral part of the description.
